Delete your Bobao account
Applies to Bobao (com.getbobao.app) and getbobao.com.
Option 1 — delete it yourself, in the app
This is immediate and needs no waiting on us.
- Open Bobao and sign in.
- Go to Account → Settings → Privacy.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
Your login and personal data are removed straight away. This cannot be undone — there is no recovery window and no way for us to restore the account afterwards.
Option 2 — ask us to delete it
If you can't reach the app — lost your device, can't sign in, already uninstalled — email us and we'll do it for you.

- Subject: Account deletion request
- Send from the email address on the account — that's how we confirm it's yours. We won't delete an account on a request we can't verify, because doing so would let anyone delete anyone else's.
We action verified requests within 30 days, usually far sooner.
What gets deleted

What stays, with your name removed
Content you shared publicly — posts, reviews, comments and photos — stays, but your name and profile photo are stripped from it and it is credited to “Former Bobao user”. Nothing on it identifies you afterwards.
We keep the content itself because a shop's rating is built from its reviews, and other customers rely on them. Deleting every review whenever someone leaves would punish shops for a customer's departure and make the ratings less useful for everyone. Severing the link to you is what removes your personal data; erasing the shop's history is not required to do that.
Data we keep after deletion, and why
- Anonymous, aggregated statistics — counts that no longer identify you (for example "62% of users prefer milk tea"). These cannot be traced back to a person and so cannot be individually removed.
- Error and crash logs — retained by our diagnostics provider for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
- Records we're legally required to keep — for example transaction records for a paid subscription, kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
